William Huntley Drummond, 15th Earl of Perth was born on 5 August 1871.1 He was the son of James David Drummond, 8th Viscount Strathallan and Ellen Thornhill.1 He married Anna Strauss, daughter of Jacob Strauss, in January 1911.1 He died on 20 August 1937 at age 66, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Black Watch.1 He succeeded as the 11th Lord Maderty [S., 1609] on 5 December 1893.1 He succeeded as the 9th Lord Drummond of Cromlix [S., 1686] on 5 December 1893.1 He succeeded as the 9th Viscount Strathallan [S., 1686] on 5 December 1893.1 He succeeded as the 15th Earl of Perth [S., 1605] on 28 February 1902.1 He succeeded as the 19th Lord Drummond [S., 1488] on 28 February 1902.1

James Drummond, 1st Lord Maderty was born in 1551.1 He was the son of David Drummond, 2nd Lord Drummond and Lilias Ruthven.1 He married Jane Chisholm, daughter of James Chisholm, 3rd of Cromlix and Jean Drummond.2 He died in September 1623.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Perthshire in 1585.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Perthshire from 1592 to 1593.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Perthshire in 1597.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Perthshire in 1600.2 He was created 1st Lord Maderty [Scotland] on 31 January 1608/9.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Perthshire in 1613.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3
