Maj.-Gen. Cyril Mosley Wagstaff was born on 5 March 1878.1 He was the son of Philip Wagstaff.1 He married, firstly, Rosabel Thelwall, daughter of Colonel Eubule Thelwall, in 1906.1 He married, secondly, Marjorie Frances Fry, daughter of Charles Fry, in 1927.1 He died on 21 February 1934 at age 55.1
     He was commissioned in 1897.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1906.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1914.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1915.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1916.1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Belgian.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1919.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1930.1 He was the Commandant between 1930 and 1934 at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1931.1

John Percival Davies, 1st Baron Darwen was born on 28 March 1885.1 He was the son of Thomas Pearce Davies and Lucy Dora Webb.3 He married Mary Kathleen Brown, daughter of Alfred Kemp Brown, on 18 March 1914.1 He died on 26 December 1950 at age 65.1
     He was educated at Sidcot School, Winscombe, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Bootham School, York, Yorkshire, EnglandG, Heys-in-Bowland.1 He was educated at Manchester University, Manchester, Lancashire, EnglandG.1 He was a cotton manufacturer, and adult education worker.1 He was created 1st Baron Darwen, of Heys-in-Bowland, in the West Riding of Yorkshire [U.K.] on 12 February 1946.1 He held the office of Lord-in-Waiting to HM King George VI between 1949 and 1950.1
