Nevermore/Sanctuary Singer Warrel Dane Dead Of Apparent Heart Attack - Theprp.com

Singer Warrel Dane of Nevermore/Sanctuary fame passed away overnight due to an apparent heart attack. He was in São Paulo, Brazil at the time of his passing, working on a new solo album. His guitarist Johnny Moraes commented to UOL:

“He died in the night, he had a heart attack, he was in the apartment where he stayed while recording the album, when it happened. I did a cardiac massage, we called the SAMU, who arrived very fast, but when they arrived he was already dead.”

Moraes also noted that Dane had some pre-existing issues with his health:

“His health was already very weak because of his diabetes and his problems with alcoholism. He was already facing a lot of health problems.”

According to Moraes the band were almost done recording the aforementioned new album and were in the midst of doing the vocal sessions. It is unsure if it will see a release.

* Initial reports had Dane as being 48-years-old at the time of his passing, however it appears that he was actually 56.
