One of several firsts for Six Flags Over Texas, this is the world's first "Mine Train" coaster and since its debut little has changed. Runaway Mine Train climbs three lift hills during its run along nearly half-a-mile of tubular steel track. At the time of opening it was one of only a few roller coasters to feature this innovative track design that provided a smoother ride experience. Impressive by the ride standards of when it opened, now Runaway Mine Train is simply a family ride, since thrill-seekers have moved on to taller and faster coasters.
