In Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park, a protected sanctuary and popular snorkeling spot on the Big Island. He landed here in 1778, and was killed near the same spot in 1779. Monument was erected in 1874. Most take a tour boat to get there, can see dolphins and whale along the way at the right time of year. Land access by car is not possible.
