- A dictionary of medical eponyms
German physician, born August 5, 1835, Moritzburg, Saxony; died June 3, 1921, Dresden.
Karl Ludwig Alfred Fiedler studied in Leipzig, in particularly as a student of Karl Reinhold August Wunderlich (1815-1877). He received his doctorate in 1859, was assistant physician at the medical clinic at Rostock, prosector 1861-1868 and from 1868 chief physician at the municipal hospital – the Stadtkrankenhaus - in Dresden. An eponym is a word derived from the name of a person, whether real or fictional. A medical eponym is thus any word related to medicine, whose name is derived from a person. Whonamedit.com is a biographical dictionary of medical eponyms. It is our ambition to present a complete survey of all medical phenomena named for a person, with a biography of that person. Whonamedit? does not give medical advice.Born 1835 Died 1921 Related eponyms
