Miniature books information file, 1884-ca. 1940 | WorldCat.org

Correspondence between Club Librarian Ruth S. Granniss and Samuel P. Avery, Jr. regarding the gift of his father's miniature books to the Grolier Club. The correspondence of Granniss with Wilbur Macy Stone and Falconer Madan regarding miniature books includes some photographs. Also: newspaper and magazine articles on miniature books from the period ca. 1884-1911, including a substantial article in the Hartford Times (1911 June 18)) about an exhibition of Avery's collection, and an article by Karl Kup in The Antiquarian (Oct. 1928). The undated typescript headed "Harvey Darton Collection of Children's Books" may be a draft of his Children's Books in England, first published in 1932. That collection included miniature books. Also: advertisements, miscellaneous items relating to miniature books, architectural drawings for a book case, and a folder of material relating to the collection of Gustine Courson Weaver. There is also a copy of the article about the Avery/Grolier collection taken from the article by Francis J. Weber, S.J. in The Microbibliophile (Sept. 1991)
