Three volumes of records which supply information about the running of the newspaper over a period of fifty-four years. Volume 1 contains a copy of the Articles of Agreement, 1761, signed by the proprietors and printers, including Bonnell Thornton, Ralph Griffiths, Thomas Becket, Thomas Davis, Robert Davis, Lockyer Davis, Christopher Henderson, Thomas Lounds, William Jackson, Henry Baldwin, George Colman, and John Berkenhout, and setting forth the plan of organization (21 p.). Volume 1 also contains the minutes of general meetings of the proprietors and committee meeting minutes, 1761-1775. The minutes show date and place of each meeting, names of persons present, business transacted, financial reports, and shareholders added to and subtracted from the group at various times. Volumes 2 and 3 contain minutes and other records of the newspaper's proprietors, 1775-1815
