They relate to the administration of public aid under the direction of the Federal Emergency Relief Administration with bulletins (1936-1937), circulars, directives (1935-1936, undated), manuals (1938, undated), booklets, newspapers, clippings, handbills, broadsides, and newsletters. Newspapers, clippings and scrapbooks also report on WPA work programs, World War II, and LSU, as well as offering insight into the Louisiana political environment during the Huey P. Long era, as does some correspondence. Papers also provide budgets for the Louisiana Highway Commission (1930-1931), East Baton Rouge Parish employees (1939, undated), La. State Parks and Recreation Commission (1968; 1971), and the La. State Treasurer's annual report (1931). Maps of Louisiana and Baton Rouge are also included
