John Strong (b. c.1654 - d. 1693) aboard Welfare at Bald Cove (Hawkins Land). 1702 Edmund Halley publishes a revision of his map with the archipelago first named the Falkland Islands. 23 Dec 1708 Named "Falkland's Land" by Capt.
