Peafowl

An adult peafowl.

A peachick.
Peafowl are colorful birds found on both Azeroth and the alternate Draenor, notable for their fan-like tail feathers. Adult males are called peacocks, females are peahens, and young are peachicks. Azerothian peafowl are mainly found in Thaldraszus on the Dragon Isles, but also parts of the Waking Shores and the Azure Span. Draenic peachicks can mainly be found as critters in Talador, the Spires of Arak, and the Everbloom.
A single peacock feather is often laid upon a grave to ward off evil spirits.[1] The bloodfeather type is completely fearless and will charge any threat with fanned-out feathers.[2] The feathers of the golden dawnfeather type are said to glitter like gold in the rising sun.[3]

- Peafowl are somewhat unusual in that while the peachick model was introduced in Warlords of Draenor, the adult version of the animals wasn't introduced until Dragonflight, four expansions later.
- Before peafowl made their first appearance in World of Warcraft, they were referenced in the dialogue of Dalliah the Doomsayer (who calls Wrath-Scryer Soccothrates "an overstuffed peacock") and in the name of the
[Cloak of Peacock Feathers] (an item drop from Feng the Accursed).
