Alison M. Tucher is a judge for Division 3 of the California 1st District Court of Appeal. She assumed office on August 30, 2021. Her current term ends on January 6, 2031.
Tucher ran for re-election for the Division 3 judge of the California 1st District Court of Appeal. She won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.
She was appointed to the court on July 9, 2021 by Gavin Newsom (D) to replace Peter Siggins. Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Tucher's appointment on July 9, 2021, identified her as a Democrat.[1]
Tucher was also a judge of the Superior Court of Alameda County in California from 2013 to 2018. She was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown (D) to replace Judge Joseph Hurley.[2]

Tucher received her undergraduate degree from Williams College, her master's degree from the University of Cambridge, and her J.D. from Stanford Law School.[2]
