Donnelly was a judge of the Bronx County Supreme Court, Criminal Term in the 12th Judicial District of New York from 2009-2015. She has also served on the New York Court of Claims since 2009. Her term was scheduled to expire in 2017, but she was confirmed to a position in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York in 2015.[3][8]
