Education
Anne Ellington was a Division 1 judge in the Washington Court of Appeals. She joined the court in May 1995 and retired on October 19, 2012.[1][2]
Education
Ellington received her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in l969 and her J.D. from the University of Washington Law School in l974.[1]
Career
Ellington served as a law clerk for Justice Orris Hamilton of the Washington State Supreme Court and as an assistant attorney general from 1975 to 1978. For a time, Ellington then worked as an attorney in private practice in Seattle, specializing in employment, family and tort law.[1]
Ellington first became a judge in 1984 when she was elected to the King County Superior Court. She served as the assistant presiding judge of the King County Superior Court from 1989 to 1994 and was then elected by her peers in 1994 as the court's presiding judge.[1]
