Antonio I. Brandveen is an acting justice of the Nassau County Supreme Court in the 10th Judicial District of New York. He is also a New York Court of Claims Judge. He has served in these two capacities since 1987.[1]

Education

Brandveen received his B.S. degree from Fordham University in 1969 and his J.D. degree from the New York University Law School.[1]

Career

Brandveen began his career as an attorney for Harlem Legal Services in 1974. The following year, he became a law clerk of the State Supreme Court. He served in this position until his judicial appointment in 1980.

Brandveen joined the Housing Part of the New York City Civil Court in 1980. He then worked as a judge of the New York City Civil Court and the New York City Criminal Court from 1986 to 1987. He was then elected to the Supreme Court and the Court of Claims. He has also served as a County Court judge (from 1999 to 2002) and a Family Court judge (2002).

During his career, Brandveen has also worked as an adjunct law professor for the Jacob D. Fuchberg Law Center of Touro College (1991-1992). He worked for the Office of Court Administration from 1999 to 2003, serving in the Judge Training Course, the Court Attorneys Training Course and the Criminal Law Committee.[1]
