Bailey Aldrich (1907-2002) was a federal judge for the First Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He joined the First Circuit in 1959 after an appointment from Dwight Eisenhower. He joined the District of Massachusetts in 1954 after an appointment from Dwight Eisenhower. Prior to service he was a private practice attorney. He assumed senior status on August 31, 1972 and served until his death on September 25, 2002.[1]

Judicial nominations and appointments
First Circuit
Nominated by Dwight Eisenhower, Aldrich filled a seat vacated by Calvert Magruder in this new appointment. He was confirmed by the Senate on September 9, 1959, and received his commission on September 10th. He served as chief judge from 1965-1972, assumed senior status on August 31, 1972. He continued service until his death on September 25, 2002.He was succeeded to this position by Levin Hicks Campbell.[1]
District of Massachusetts
President Dwight Eisenhower nominated Judge Bailey to the District of Massachusetts on April 1, 1954, to a new seat created by 68 Stat. 8. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on April 23, 1954, and received his commission on April 27, 1954. His service on the court ended on September 14, 1959, following a February 26, 1959 appointment by Dwight Eisenhower to the First Circuit. Aldrich was succeeded in this position by Anthony Julian.[1]
