Bruce Rutherford Thompson (1911-1992) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Nevada.

Thompson was nominated by President John F. Kennedy on July 9, 1963, to a seat vacated by John William Ross; he was confirmed by the Senate on August 6, 1963, and received his commission on August 16, 1963. He assumed senior status on August 31, 1978. He served the District of Nevada until his death on February 10, 1992. Thompson was succeeded in this position by Harry Claiborne.
