Charles Breckenridge Faris (1864-1938) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Faris died on December 18, 1938.

Professional career

Judicial nominations and appointments

Eighth Circuit

Faris was nominated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on January 14, 1935 to fill the seat vacated by William Squire Kenyon. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 25th, and received commission on January 31st. On November 30, 1935, he assumed senior status. He served until his death on December 18, 1938.[1]

Eastern District of Missouri

Faris was nominated by President Woodrow Wilson on October 11, 1919 to fill the seat vacated by David Patterson Dyer. He was confirmed by the Senate on October 13th, and received commission that same day. He served on this court until February 6, 1935, when he was appointed to the Eighth Circuit.[1] Faris was succeeded in this position by George Moore.
