Charles B. Peatross (b. May 27, 1940) was a judge on the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal. He was elected to this position in 1996.[1][2] Judge Peatross retired from the court at the end of 2011.[3]

Education

Judge Peatross is a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School and earned his B.B.A. in 1963 from Tulane University. Judge Peatross earned his J.D. in 1964 from Tulane Law School. Judge Peatross has been President of the Second Circuit Judges Association, President and on the Executive Committee of the Shreveport Bar Association. Peatross and his wife, Betsy Chandler Peatross, have three children.[1]

Career

Judge Peatross clerked for the Second Circuit Court of Appeal between August 1964 and August 1965. He would practice law for 31 years as Senior Partner in Peatross, Greer & Frazier in Shreveport before being elected as an appellate judge to the Second Circuit Court of Appeal in 1996, and again without opposition in 2002. Judge Peatross is admitted to practice law in both Louisiana and Colorado. At the time of his tenure, he was on the Louisiana Appellate Rules Committee.[1]
