Cheryl A. Blackburn (Democratic Party) is a judge for Division III of the Tennessee 20th Judicial District Criminal Court. Her current term ends on September 1, 2030.
Blackburn (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for the Division III judge of the Tennessee 20th Judicial District Criminal Court. She won in the general election on August 4, 2022.
Blackburn was appointed to the court by former Governor Don Sundquist in August 1996.[1][2][3]
Education
Blackburn received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in 1969, her master's degree in clinical psychology from Vanderbilt University in 1972, and her J.D. degree from the Nashville School of Law in 1979.[1]
Career
Blackburn began her career working in various capacities for the Dede Wallace Center and the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation. Her legal career began in 1979, when she joined the Davidson County District Attorney's Office. She worked there until her judicial appointment in 1996.[1]
