Cheryl Waite (Democratic Party) is a judge of the Ohio Seventh District Court of Appeals. She assumed office on February 10, 1997. Her current term ends on February 8, 2027.

Waite (Nonpartisan, Democratic Party) ran for re-election for judge of the Ohio Seventh District Court of Appeals. Waite won in the general election on November 3, 2020. She advanced from the Democratic primary on April 28, 2020.

Waite also served as the presiding judge of this court from 2003 to 2005 and again from 2011 to 2013. Waite has been the secretary/treasurer for the Ohio Courts of Appeals Judges Association.[1]

Primary: She ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014.
General: She was unopposed in the general election on November 4, 2014. [2][3] 

Education

Waite received her undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University in 1982 and her J.D. from the Cleveland-Marshall School of Law in 1985.[4]

Career

Waite began her legal career as a clerk for various firms while she was in law school. In 1985, she became an assistant law director for the City of Youngstown, Ohio. She was eventually promoted to first assistant. From 1991 through 1996, Waite also served as the city's acting risk manager. She was elected to the Ohio Seventh District Court of Appeals in 1996.[4]
