Chinhayi C. Cadet is a judge of the Superior Court of San Mateo County in California. She assumed office in 2021.

She was appointed to the court on July 9, 2021 by Gavin Newsom (D) to replace Mark R. Forcum. Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Cadet's appointment identified her as a Democrat.[1]

Biography

Cadet received her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. She was an Associate at Hillsinger & Costanzo from 1998 to 1999 and at Swerdlow, Florence, Sanchez & Rathbun from 1999 to 2001. From 2001 to prior to her appointment, Cadet served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of California.[1]
