Primary: He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014.
General: He defeated Terrence L. Holmes in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 50.6 percent of the vote. [1][2] 

Education

Woods received his undergraduate degree from Lamar University in 1998. He went on to earn a J.D. from Texas Southern University in 2002.[3]

Career

Woods worked with the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office from 2002 until he was elected to the bench in 2014. He handled criminal prosecutions.[3]
