Biography
Dan Davis was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1970. He earned a bachelor's degree from Westminster College in 1965. His career experience includes working as CEO of D2X Construction LLC. Davis has been affiliated with the Rogue Valley chapter of Veterans for Peace and Rogue Valley Transportation District.[1]

I'm a businessman and CEO of a small architecture & engineering firm and a veteran of the Vietnam where I earned both a Bronze Star and Soldier's Medal for valor, and a Purple Heart. I've served on several local public interest boards, including the Oregon Energy Trust, Southern Oregon Habitat for Humanity and Rogue Valley Transportation District.
I'm running to represent the residents of Medford in the Oregon State Legislature.
As a veteran I strongly support services for Oregon veterans and our state Veterans Affairs Department. Suicide prevention, particularly for veterans and children, is another top priority for me. I have worked with Senator Jeff Merkley and the Federal Communications Commission to get a three-digit number to replace the much longer phone number of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, which is now operational if you dial 988. Also, I was instrumental in getting the VA to implement a press 7 connection to the NSPL for anyone who calls a VA phone number.
My parents, Jake & Gertie, were always loving and caring, honest and truthful no matter how difficult our financial circumstances were at times. I know they sacrificed and my siblings and I never felt poor or insecure. My mom taught me to respect others and not judge based on superficial differences, such as skin color or national origin. When I was 16 years old, I was picking her up at the county courthouse where she worked as a social worker and she said she was thirsty and she walked an extra 10 feet to the fountain marked "Coloreds Only" for her drink. I asked her why she did that. And she simply said because it's wrong. I got the message.
Climate change, drought and wildfires
Absolutely, yes it is in order to bridge ideological differences in order to get legislation passed that benefits our people, communities and state.
