Daniel Mortimer Friedman (1916 - 2011) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He served until his death on July 6, 2011. He was formerly a judge on the United States Court of Claims.[1]

Education

Friedman graduated from Columbia University with his bachelor's degree in 1937 and he graduated from Columbia Law with his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1940. Friedman served in the U.S. Army on active duty from 1942 to 1946.[1]

Judicial nominations and appointments

Friedman was nominated to the Court of Claims by President Jimmy Carter. He was commissioned as chief judge on May 17, 1978. Friedman joined the Federal Circuit after being reassigned from the Court of Claims on October 1, 1982. He assumed senior status on November 1, 1989 and served until his death on July 6, 2011.[2][1]
