David R. Grand is a federal magistrate judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He has served on the court since 2011.[1]

Education

Grand earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana University in 1994 and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1998.[1]

Professional career

From his court biography, after law school Judge Grand "served as a law clerk to the Hon. Bernard A. Friedman of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He then joined the Ann Arbor office of Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone where he practiced antitrust and sports law. Magistrate Judge Grand has taught Sports Law as an adjunct professor of law."[1] He joined the district court as a magistrate judge in 2011.
