Elections for 17 seats in the Wisconsin State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 12, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Martha Laning ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Devin Lemahieu ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Lamahieu defeated Laning in the general election. Barry Nelson (R) was removed from the candidate list before the primary.[1][2][3]

Lemahieu ran in the 2012 election for Wisconsin State Assembly District 26. He was defeated by incumbent Michael Endsley (R) in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012.[4] Endsley will face Democratic primary victor Mike Helmke in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[5][6]
