Don Laramore

Don Nelson Laramore (1906-1989) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Court of Claims. He was reassigned from the Court of Claims to the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals by the Federal Courts Improvement Act of 1982.[1] Laramore died on August 9, 1989.

Education

Laramore attended both the University of Chicago and the Indiana School of Law.[2]

Professional career

Laramore was an Official Reporter for Starke Circuit Court of Indiana from 1925 to 1936. He then worked as an attorney for the Nickel Plate Railroad Claims Department of the Pennsylvania Railroad and New York Central Railroad from 1936 to 1942. He also worked as a judge for the Starke Circuit Court of Indiana from 1942 to 1954.[2]

Federal judicial service

Laramore was nominated to the Court of Claims by President Dwight Eisenhower, and he received his commission on March 17, 1954. He assumed senior status on January 17, 1972, and was reassigned to the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals (while maintaining his senior status) on October 1, 1982. His service was terminated on August 9, 1989 due to his death.[3][2]
