Dwane Tinsley is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. He was chosen by U.S. district judges to replace former Judge Mary Stanley, who retired on March 31, 2013. Tinsley took office on April 8, 2013.[1]

Education

Tinsley earned his B.A. from Davis & Elkins College in 1975, his M.S.W. from Howard University in 1978, and his J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law in 1981.[2]

Career

Before serving as a magistrate judge, Tinsley was an attorney in Charleston, West Virginia.
