Edward B. Atkins is a federal magistrate judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. He was appointed to this position on August 24, 2006, and was reappointed in 2014. his current term will expire on August 23, 2022.[1][2]
Education
Judge Atkins received his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1990.[3]
Professional career
Judge Atkins began his career in 1990 as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Joseph M. Hood. He then worked as a private practice lawyer with the firm Smith, Atkins & Thompson from 1992 until he was appointed magistrate judge in 2006.[3][2]
