Geoffrey C. "Geoff" Davis (b. October 26, 1958) was a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing Kentucky's 4th Congressional District. Davis was first elected to the House in 2004 and he retired on July 31, 2012.

Davis initially announced he would retire at the end of his term rather than seek re-election, in 2012[1] In July, however, Davis announced his resignation, choosing not to finish out his term.[2][3][4]

Based on an analysis of bill sponsorship by GovTrack, Davis was a "rank-and-file Republican."[5]

Biography

Davis was born in 1958 in Montreal, Canada, to American parents, and attended high school in West Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He earned his B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and went on to serve in the Army through 1987. Outside of politics, he has also worked as a manufacturer and consultant.[6]

Davis retired in July of 2012, and did not seek re-election.[1] Thomas Massie (R) defeated Bill Adkins (D) and David Lewis (I) in the general election for the seat.

2010

On November 2, 2010, Geoff Davis won re-election to the United States House. He defeated John Waltz (D) in the general election.[8]
