Education

James A. McIntyre was an associate justice on the Fourth District, Division One of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed by Governor Pete Wilson and took the oath of office on June 6, 1996. He was retained by voters in 2002[1] and 2014.[2]McIntyre retired in June 2016.[3]

Education

McIntyre earned an A.B. in philosophy from Brown University in 1960. He went on to receive his J.D. from Stanford University in 1963.[4]

Career

McIntyre was a civil trial attorney with the law firm McInnis, Fitzgerald, Rees, Sharkey & McIntyre from 1963 to 1993. He also served as an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law. He was appointed to the San Diego County Superior Court by Governor Wilson in 1993. He served on this court until his appointment to the California Fourth District Court of Appeal.[4]
