Education

James Wicks is a magistrate judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Wicks assumed office on April 26, 2021.

Education

Wicks earned a bachelor's degree from Wheeling College and a J.D. from St. John's University School of Law.[1]

Professional career

Prior to joining the court, Wicks worked as an attorney for the law firm of Farrell Fritz, P.C., in New York. In his 25 years at Farrell Fritz, he worked as a senior partner, member, and served as the firm's general counsel. Since 2005, he has taught as an adjunct professor at St. John's University School of Law. After law school, Wicks worked as a law clerk to Judge Arthur Spatt in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.[1]
