Jeffrey Cole is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He has served in this position since May 6, 2005, and his current term expired on May 5, 2021.[1]

Career

Judge Cole began his legal experience in 1969 working with the U.S. Department of Justice as part of the Attorney General’s Program for Honor's Law Graduates. From 1969 to 1975, he worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of Illinois. During this time, he served as Chief of the Appellate Division and Assistant Chief of the Criminal Division. He then became a private practice lawyer, working in this capacity until his appointment to magistrate judge in 2005.[1]
