John Padova was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He joined the court in 1992 after being nominated by President George H.W. Bush. He is serving on senior status.

Early life and education

A native Pennsylvanian, Padova graduated from Villanova University with his bachelor's degree in 1956 and later graduated from Temple University School of Law with his Juris Doctorate degree in 1959. Padova also served in the U.S. Army Air National Guard of New Jersey from 1959 to 1964 and in the U.S. Army Reserve JAG (Judge Advocate General) Corps from 1964 to 1968.[1]

Professional career

Padova spent his entire pre-judicial legal career as a private practice attorney licensed in the State of Pennsylvania from 1960 to 1992.

Judicial career

Eastern District of Pennsylvania

On the recommendation of Senator Arlen Specter, Padova was nominated by President George Bush on November 5, 1991 to a new seat created by 104 Stat. 5089 which was approved by Congress. Padova was confirmed by the Us Senate on March 13, 1992 on a Senate vote and received commission on March 18, 1992. Padova assumed senior status on February 11, 2008.[1]
