Lydia C. Lai is a judge for the New York City Housing Court of Bronx County, New York. She was appointed to this position in April of 2003 and was reappointed in 2008.[1][2]
Education
Lai received her B.A. from Brown University in 1987 and her J.D. from the University of California Los Angeles School of Law in 1990.[1]
Career
Lai began her career in 1990 as an associate of the law firm of Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker. She then served as a senior court attorney of the New York State Supreme Court from 1992 to 1996. From 1996 to 1998, she was assistant deputy counsel for the Office of Court Administration. She then served as counsel for the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board from 1999 until she was appointed to the housing court in 2003.[2]
