Education
Michael N. "Nick" Deegan was a judge for the Sixth District Court of Campbell, Crook, and Weston County, Wyoming. He was appointed by Governor Dave Freudenthal on July 15, 2005.[1][2] Deegan retired on December 25, 2020.[3]
Education
Deegan received his undergraduate degree in history from Stanford University in 1972 and his J.D. degree from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1980.[1]
Career
Deegan began his career as a deputy prosecutor in Carbon County. He then worked as a private practice lawyer and municipal judge in Rawlins, WY from 1983 to 1988. In 1989, he was appointed a county judge of Campbell County. He served in that position until 1994. The following year, he started working as a private practice attorney in Gillette. He was then elected to the Wyoming House of Representatives, where he served from 1997 to 2002. After that, he clerked for Judge Terrence O'Brien of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit until his appointment to the district court in 2005.[1][4]
