In Nevada, a majority vote is required in two successive sessions of the Nevada State Legislature to place an amendment on the ballot.

2023 legislative session

The amendment was introduced as Assembly Joint Resolution 6 (AJR 5). It was approved by the Assembly by 26-15 on April 17, 2023. It was approved by the Senate by 12-8 on May 26, 2023.^[1]
