Paul E. Hamre was a judge for the 36th Circuit Court in Van Buren County, Michigan. He was first elected to the court on November 5, 1996 and assumed office on January 1, 1997.[1] Hamre was re-elected in 2002 and 2008 and retired from the court on August 2, 2013.[2][3][4][5]
Education
Hamre received his undergraduate degree in political science from Kalamazoo College in 1974, his master's degree from Western Michigan University in 1976, and his J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1981.[6]
Career
Hamre worked as an attorney in private practice for fifteen years prior to his election to the 36th Circuit Court in 1996. He was also appointed a family court judge in 1997.[6]
