Noteworthy events
Censure for participating in poker games
In July 2012, the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct censured Hensley for allegedly participating in unlawful, for-profit poker games from August 2008 to November 2008. Hensley was reportedly present at the Fraternal Order of Eagles while a police raid of the premises occurred in November 2008. During the subsequent investigation, the host was arrested on gambling-related offenses, though no guest was charged.[4][5]
According to the commission, Hensley's participation in these games "gave his judicial imprimatur to [the] unlawful activity." Hensley was censured for his participation in these games.[5]
