Philip G. Minardo is a certificated justice for the 13th Judicial District in Richmond County, New York. He joined the court in 1996. In 2012, after reaching the age of mandatory retirement (70), he became a certificated justice. His current term expires in 2013. He was also the District Administrative Judge of the 13th Judicial District from 2009 to 2011.[1][2]
Education
Minardo received his B.A. degree from Manhattan College and his J.D. degree from St. John's University School of Law.[2]
Career
Minardo began his career in 1969 as an Assistant Richmond County District Attorney. He then became a private practice lawyer in 1976 and worked in this position through 1995. From 1988 to 1995, he also served as Special Counsel to State Senator John Marchi. He was elected to the Supreme Court in 1996. From 2005 to 2009 he was an Administrative Judge for Richmond County. In 2009, he became an Administrative Judge of the 13th Judicial District.[2]
2009 election
Minardo was re-elected to the court after running unopposed in 2009.[3]
