This page collects examples of public officials who have been arrested and convicted for driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while Intoxicated (DWI) while in office. Although usually alcohol-related, these offenses can also include impairment caused by other drugs. Please note that the information below is not comprehensive. If you know of any cases we are missing, please contact us.

All states criminalize driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08 or above.[1] In Utah, the legal BAC limit is 0.05.[2] In 2019, the FBI estimated that 1,024,508 arrests were made for driving under the influence in the United States.[3]
