Education

Ralph Tureau was the Division A judge of the 23rd Judicial District in Louisiana. He was elected to this position in the fall of 1996 and took office in January 1997.[1] After he decided not to run for re-election in 2014, his most recent term expired on December 31, 2014.[2]

Education

Tureau received his A.A. degree from St. Joseph Jr. College in 1965, his B.A. degree from the Louisiana State University in 1967 and his J.D. degree from the L.S.U. Paul M. Herbert Law School in 1971. 

Career

Tureau became an assistant district attorney in 1979. He was promoted to first assistant D.A. in 1985, and he served in that capacity until he joined the district court in 1997. He was also an attorney for Ascension Parish from 1992 to 1997. He served as chief judge of the district court in 1998 and 2003. From 2004 to 2007, he also taught at River Parish Community College.
