Education


J. Robin Hunt was a judge on the Washington Court of Appeals, Division II. She was elected to this position in November 1996 and took office in January 1997.[1] She was re-elected in 2002 and 2008.[2][3] Hunt retired from the bench on September 30, 2014.[4][5]

Education

Hunt received her undergraduate degree in music from Smith College in 1970 and her J.D. degree from the Wayne State University Law School in 1973.[1]

Career

Hunt began her legal career during law school as a clerk for the Detroit Public Defender and the Washington Attorney General's Office. She then clerked for Cornelia Kennedy of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan until 1974. Hunt worked as a lawyer for a firm in Alaska and then a firm in Seattle. In 1975, she joined the King County Prosecutor's Office, where she worked as a deputy (and then senior deputy) until 1983. From 1982 to 1993, she served as a municipal court judge pro tem for the Bainbridge Island Municipal Court, and, from 1985 to 1996, Hunt served as a hearing examiner for the court. She joined the Court of Appeals in 1996.[1]
