Sharon A. M. Aarons is a judge for the 3rd Department of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division. She assumed office on March 1, 2016. Her term ended on December 31, 2023.

Education

Aarons received her B.A. degree from New York University and her J.D. degree from the City University of New York, Queens College School of Law.[1]

Career

Aarons began her career in 1989 as a staff attorney in the Criminal Division of the Legal Aid Society. In 1994, she left that position to work as the principal law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Alexander W. Hunter. In 1998, she joined the law firm of William Gallina, where she practiced as an associate until 2000. She then worked as principal law clerk to Bronx County Surrogate Lee Holzman through 2003. Aarons was elected to the New York City Civil Court bench in 2004. She was re-elected and joined the Supreme Court in 2010.[1]
