Steve Cohn is a former member of the Sacramento, California City Council, representing District 3 from 1994 to December 9, 2014. In 1996 and in 2008, the Sacramento City Council appointed Cohn to serve as Vice Mayor.[1]

In 2014, Cohn was a Democratic candidate for District 7 of the California State Assembly.

Biography

Cohn earned a B.S. from Yale University and a J.D. from the University of San Diego. From 1975-1976, he studied at the Université d’Aix-Marseilles as a Fulbright Scholar. His professional experience includes working as an attorney and as the Chief Assistant General Counsel for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.[1]

Elections for the California State Assembly took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Steve Cohn (D) and Kevin McCarty (D) defeated Mark Johannessen (D), Ralph Merletti (R) and Oliver Ponce (R) in the blanket primary. McCarty defeated Cohn in the general election.[2][3][4]
