Teresa J. James is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. She was appointed to this position on January 16, 2014. Her current term will expire on January 15, 2022.[1][2]
Education
James received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in 1981 and her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1984.[2]
Career
James began her career as a private practice attorney in Wichita, Kan. In 2003, she became a partner at Martin, Pringle, Oliver, Wallace & Bauer, LLP in Overland Park. There she specialized in energy, oil and gas, condemnation and real property, and complex litigation.[2]
