Timothy J. Corrigan is a federal judge on senior status with the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He joined the court in 2002 after being nominated by President George W. Bush (R). Corrigan served as chief judge of the court from 2020 to 2024. He assumed senior status on November 2, 2024. Prior to appointment, Corrigan was a magistrate judge for the Middle District of Florida.[1]

Early life and education
Corrigan graduated from the University of Notre Dame with his bachelor's degree in 1978. He graduated from the Duke University School of Law with his J.D. in 1981.[1]
Professional career
Corrigan started his law career in 1981 as a clerk for former appeals judge Gerald Tjoflat in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In 1982, after spending time in Atlanta with the Eleventh Circuit, Corrigan moved back to Florida to be a private practice attorney. He remained in private practice until appointed to the Federal Bench in 1996. Corrigan also served as a adjunct instructor for the Duke University School of Law from 1985 to 1986 and at the Florida Coastal School of Law in 1999.[1]

Middle District of Florida, Magistrate
Corrigan served as a federal magistrate judge from 1996 to 2000 in the Middle District of Florida.[1]
Middle District of Florida
Corrigan was nominated by President George W. Bush (R) on May 22, 2002, to a new seat judgeship created by 113 Stat. 1501 which was approved by Congress. Corrigan was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 12, 2002, and received commission on September 13, 2002. He served as chief judge of the court from 2020 to 2024. He assumed senior status on November 2, 2024.[1]
