Since joining the board, I have gotten to see some of the amazing connections here between the government and the people, but it’s still too limited. We truly can do more to make sure that we are not only more connected with government and people, but that more people understand that they have the ability to change and better their government, and therefore their lives.[2]

Elections for the Hawaii House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Incumbent Bertrand "Bert" Kobayashi was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Victoria Elizabeth Mathieu was unopposed in the Republican primary. Kobayashi defeated Mathieu and Anthony Higa (L) in the general election.[3][4][5]
