William Edward Doyle (1911-1986) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.^[1]

Judicial career

Tenth Circuit

Doyle was nominated by President Richard Nixon on March 25, 1971, to a seat vacated by Judge Alfred Murrah. He was confirmed by the Senate on April 21, 1971, and received commission on April 26, 1971. He assumed senior status on December 28, 1984. He served the Tenth Circuit until his death on May 2, 1986.^[1]

District of Colorado

Doyle was nominated by President John F. Kennedy on September 14, 1961, to a new seat created by 75 Stat. 80. He was confirmed by the Senate on September 21, 1961, and received his commission on September 22nd. He served the District of Colorado until he was elevated to the Tenth Circuit on May 17, 1971.^[1] Doyle was succeeded in this position by Judge Sherman Finesilver.
